An ode to all the parents

When the light burns out and night grows dark

when shadows crawl in my lonely heart

when hope runs away and dream just frays

I find you by my side guiding the way.

You gave me strength when I was empty inside

You still believed in me when I has lost my fight

You raised me up to walk on storming sea

You raised me up to more than I can be.

I wrote this song with a broken rhyme

to tell you that you are my divine

and I still remember those songs you played

the dreams you gave when I was just a child.

So as my road runs through the woods of time

as the curve steps down in the circle of life

a day shall rise when you shall see

your son as a man you dreamt he would be.
